Which book I should reread now Hello! I want to improve my positional game. The two book on this topic that I possess are "My System" and "How to reassess your chess". I have read the first part of "My System" but it wasn't quite easy to understand and I have not finished it. I have read the whole "How to reassess your chess" it was much easier to read and understand. What will you advise me is it better to reread "How to reassess your chess" and consolidate my understandings or to recommence my studies on "My System"? Btw. my elo is approximately 1700 if this will help you to guide me.

You might want to pick up a used copy of "The Reassess Your Chess Workbook" by IM Silman and work your way through that.

Ivan rrrrrrr... Since its been a long time since someone has commented on this thread I will put in my two cents... Since you've technically only read one of the books stated (Reassess your chess) completely... That is technically the only book you can re-read... "My System" by Nomzovich is way advanced and might be more then you can handle (depending on your level of play) and I would suggest keeping at the comfortable level of studying while trying to obtain a higher level of play...

As for a hypermodern vs modern method approach to the game of chess... A combination of both is the way to go... Understanding the principles of both methods is a real plus to your game...
